My mom had to go to town to pick up some groceries. I let her borrow my car. As she hit the city limits (Janesville, MN - Waseca County) a cop that usually sits at the same corner every day decided to pull her over. She told me that he was really rude and demanded to see proof of insurance. That's usual procedure when getting pulled over. She looked in the glove box and it wasn't there. She looked through the whole car and couldn't find it. The rude cop told her that the plates were expired. He was going to give her a warning but since she didn't have proof of insurance, he would have to give her a ticket for both offenses. I always get a reminder in the mail a few weeks before the plates expire but I didn't get one this year. I felt so bad for putting my mom through this. At the courthouse, we showed them proof of insurance and they dismissed that offense. I still had to pay a fine for expired plates.
